“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales in a musical format that follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel-all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.
Adaskin Trio w/ Oboist Thomas Gallant
The Adaskin String Trio has won over audiences internationally with exuberant and stirring performances. Formed in 1994, the trio performs extensively throughout the United States and Canada. The trio is named in honor of Murray Adaskin, one of Canada’s most loved and respected composers, and two of his brothers, violinist Harry Adaskin and producer and music educator John Adaskin. Program to include works by Mozart, Beethoven, and J.C. Bach.

Studio Jazz Band is El Camino College’s preparatory jazz ensemble. This ensemble focuses on introducing intermediate music students to the standard big band repertoire, section playing, ensemble blend, and developing stylistic jazz interpretation skills.

The El Camino College Dance Department will present “Body Language,” a showcase featuring the work of intermediate and beginning choreography students. Many genres will be represented as students dance ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz and hip-hop.
El Camino College Orchestra, Chorale, Concert Choir, Mixed Chorus (SP-16)
ECC Orchestra will combine with the ECC Chorale, Concert Choir and Mixed Chorus, to perform A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms. Don’t miss this night of musical collaboration. The Requiem is a large-scale work for chorus, orchestra, and soprano and baritone soloists.
El Camino College LoTech, NoTech (SP-16)

The Lo-Tech, No-Tech concerts are final showings from all El Camino College fall dance classes. Choreography is created by instructors, and students in each class perform the final dances. Technical aspects are minimalized to showcase dance genres, including ballet, modern, jazz, African, tap, ballroom, Latin social dance, hip-hop and beginning dance.

Erin Wood, soporano (SU-16)
Acclaimed soprano and ECC faculty member Erin Wood with pianist Kenner Bailey celebrate the arc of a woman’s life, including the many facets of youth, love, motherhood and old age. Wood has been praised for her portrayals of Verdi and Wagner heroines featuring her “soaring soprano,” “immense voice full of grit at the bottom and transcendent radiance at the top,” and “volcanic outpouring of sound that was thrilling to behold.” This recital includes art songs, arias and theater songs, including Robert Schumann’s song cycle Frauenliebe und Leben, Op. 42, which translates to “A Woman’s Love and Life.”

An Evening of Middle Eastern Dance (AEOMED) Karin Jensen and Mandala DanceWorks return to the Marsee Auditorium with an all-star cast including Helena Vlahos, Princess Farhana, Tamara Henna, Isis Siren Sekhmet plus many more.
